    Summary

    This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Key changes include:

    • Addresses an issue with a Secure Boot feature update that may cause BitLocker to go into recovery mode because of a race condition.

    Microsoft strongly recommends you install the latest servicing stack update (SSU) for your operating system before installing the latest cumulative update (LCU). Installing servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft security fixes.

    Dont get it with wu .........do we really need this update ?
    If "yes" , then why do you need to install it manually , coz its not offered by wu.............??

    The servicing stack contains the components that handle the bulk of the updates when the operating system restarts and enters WinPE.This is the main reason I'm making sure the Windows Engineers aren't taking drugs when they release these.They have a habit of uninstalling user drivers and not reinstalling... or uninstalling components entirely.
    The right side is what the recovery image is meant to look like... The left side was 18362.145 SSU breaking WinPE/RE completely
