No it's not just you I have it too, but after opening a file it's no longer there! So what's that all about!

So I just noticed, after connecting to microsoft store, that they snuck cortana beta onto my machine without asking lol.

Is this something new? I never have nor will I probably ever use cortana for anything. Can it be safely removed?
I tried to remove it from the apps page in windows settings, but the uninstall button is predictably grayed out.

My apologies if this has been previously discussed, but I have been following along and hadn't seen it mentioned yet.

    peace

It will show if you clear your most recent file history, which also gets cleared (IIRC) when you install a new IP update - one of the many things that gets reset on new builds that still chaps me.

The weird characters, though, is strange indeed, Steve.

Thanks Steven. I made a backup image and removed it with CCleaner, which will also uninstall most Microsoft apps, and all is well so far.

    Hey guys!
I am trying to install build 18932 from WU, but it gets stuck at installing (70%), and then it comes up with this error: 0xc190011f
    Anyone experienced this issue?
    Came back with an update.
It seems that I can't upgrade even with the UUP ISO. It gets stuck at Installing Windows 10 (55%) and then it exits with no error.
However, when I look in the setuperr.log file from C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther it looks like it has something to do with deleting a registry (which I think it can't finish).
Anyway, apart from the usual sfc /scannow and the dism repair commands, any ideas on how can I fix this rather annoying issue?
    Thanks in advance!

Guess I'll have to let it go a while until I see it again then, or do as @johngalt suggests. But did notice the bit of gibberish.
