Sounds like driving a Jeep over a rocky retain.

    That's pretty much it

I don't understand why it has to be such a screwed up, convoluted process for such few insignificant changes!

I found that if you press the restart now button several times and check the start menu you will eventually be offered Update and Restart.
@kado897 Thanks. I'll try and remember that.

As a test I restored back to a disk image before I updated (I always do that for safety) and this time it installed OK. I had no USB drive in this time and I used the 'restart now' option that appears as soon as the update is done. Before and I selected 'remind me later' because I wanted to eject the drive first.

I hit another new problem. The update appeared fine and so I then applied Shawns reg files to set custom font sizes for explorer and so on. Thats something I do every build and have never had an issue before. This time however when I signed out and back in to apply the setting I was rewarded with a 100% black screen and just the cursor. I could open task manager but nothing else seemed to work. Had to shutdown using power button which fortunately is set to shutdown and so this was not a hard shutdown. Reboot and all OK.

So all in all, the most problematic build so far for me.

Unlike 917, two days of mayhem, this was quick and painless. Got there in 40 mins, Via WU, and all working fine. Decided to wait until today to update and now looking forward to playing with it.

This is exactly how I done it last night... Worked from Start - Update and restart

Started downloading it since late last night, but was taking too long and I decide to go to bed. Now, this morning I am in the process of a restart.

I know the feeling, Edwin. Mine wouldn't behave (Restart), so after a few tries, I had to leave for pool league. Got home, tried some restarts again and, voila!

And now, no playing with it. Gotta teach Firefox security today instead.
