Cumulative Update KB4503293 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.175 - June 11 Win Update

Took eight minutes from time of clicking to Check Updates to installed and done. This included a slow down of the install for two minutes at 74%. All appears well.

Close the command prompt, and then run Windows Update again.

I ran DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\RepairSource\Windows /LimitAccess
and it completed to 100% then closed. I do not have access to a second system, btw. All I have is a clone of my boot drive which was made three weeks ago prior to upgrading to 1903. I THOUGHT I had several restore points too, but looked just now and the only one there is from two hours ago.

Then I ran sfc /scannow and it completed to 100% with no errors. Then I restarted, tried WU again, and again it was unable to complete the install of the update. I noticed afterward a pop-up in the bottom right that said "recent updates were unable to install, click here for more information", so I clicked on the arrow for more information, however nothing happened.

Fast and smooth and for me the disk clean up was offering to remove the remains!



Only surprise was that disk cleanup normally takes an eternity to do the cleanup and this
time all was done in less then a minute! :)

Is that a Windows Home or Pro version? My Pro version desktop didn't offer to clean up Windows Update but the Home Version on my Laptop did. Just trying to figure out why some do and some don't. :)

That is what you had not probably done. To do it, you have to download an ISO from Microsoft Windows 10 download page and mount it https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10. Then use it (mounted drive letter) as your source for the command-line to work.

my mistake, I had actually run

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

and it appeared to work correctly, went to 100%, then let me close it.

But being willing to try anything I'm going to download a fresh iso anyway, then mount it, and use the DISM repairsource method

Good and let see if you can overcome this stalemate with the mounted ISO. One thing that seems obvious is that the Windows Update component store is corrupt and this approach with the /LimitAccess switch is probably the best way to fix it.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention to pay special attention to steps 6 & 7 in Brink's tutorial from the previous post about Install.wim and Install.esd respectively.

Installed successfully, but Disk Cleanup did not offer to clean up anything from Windows Update this time.
