My dear Wynona, if by "us" you mean the insiders, I would call all the insiders, good people at heart, who would spare their precious time to provide bug fixing for Microsoft products.
But, as far as I know, that's what they are. Good people, outside the company, that spare time and effort to help.
They're not getting paid for anything, thus besides their good will, they cannot assume any responsibility for errors and since they do not work (=getting paid) for Microsoft they cannot get any blame for anything.

The point I was trying to make, is that Microsoft, as an organization, with millions of customers, should have paid more attention i.e resources (people, time, funds) to provide its customers a robust Operating system and avoid stupid mistakes, like the 1809 fiasco! Nothing more, nothing less!
You should know how much there is in developing an OS like this and even more in maintaining it to cutting edge technology. I think that spreading testing to thousands of insiders, with thousands of different configurations of SW and HW was a stroke of genius. That not only helps MS but also satisfies curiosity of inquisitive people. I had betas of practically all windows but had to work on getting them while W10 was practically a cinch to get and to get started on.
Every little part of data, acquired by telemetry and bug submissions not only helps MS but also lowers the price of windows. If they are missing some personnel that would most probably be more to analyze data coming freely to them.

Mike, I never said that the insiders program was not a "genius" -as you well put it- one.
I'm saying that the insiders effort, should be appreciated and taken into serious consideration by a strong testing/evaluation team within the MS organisation. Something that from the last years' experience seems that is not happening.

Well, yes, MS could have shown some appreciation to insiders and at same time widened insider base by giving it free to holders of regular W10 license. I had to sacrifice two W7 licenses to run insider builds on two computers. And yes, I could have upgraded to normal consumer version on at least one more machine but I'm still providing valuable data from 2 computers, many are doing from even more.

And just what would you call us, Ddelo? Look around and you'll see any number of folks (from OEMs, devs and coders all the way down to newbies) who are not only dedicated, but work their butts off to find bugs. In my book, that's dedication!

I keep seeing complaints about Microsoft's sloppy updates, but nothing about the fact that we're mostly the ones who can figure out what's wrong with any particular problem.

And yep, I'm one of those bottom of the ladder testers; however, with my testing, I'm learning more and more, with my skill set being slowly raised bit by bit.

I guess I'd say, "Don't sell the Insiders short; Microsoft needs us as much as we need Microsoft.
The problem is that these bugs are being released to the general public. Most of the general public has no clue how to solve a problem that was caused by a update that that MS released before it was better tested. I'm all for mandatory security updates but I will always believe that feature updates should be voluntary.

@CountMike You say that telemetry helps lower the price of Windows, but if you buy it from the official store, its still rather high in my view.

I would argue that those who do not know how to resolve bugs in Insider bulids, should perhaps not be on them.

If I didn't have 3 W7 Ultimate licenses there would be only one W10 here and it's doubtful it would be insider version, at least not Skippy. Just can't afford luxury like that. This one computer can run with W10 only but the other one was just fine with W7. To spend 300+ bucks just to test someone's OS for free would be out of my books. No way Pedro !! If insider versions were free, I could activate another one or two machines to test on but what the hey, it's their loss.

I agree with you. If they lowered the price, more people would buy it.

Has anyone experienced any lines showing up on their screens? I have a small straight line on the bottom left corner of my laptop screen. It's there permanently and wasn't before my second to last reboot.
