All done. Getting things read at the start was rapid, about 6 minutes, very quick download and then around 30 minutes install time.

    First job is AOMEI image.

This might be imagination but the colour temperature of the display (Laptop with inbuilt Intel graphics) seems slightly warmer and softer. Whites don't seem quite as blue/white as before.

    I ran Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth in Admin CMD, got clean bill-of-health.
Then tried to run sfc /scannow, still in Admin CMD. It fell over at 35%
    Ran
sfc /scannow in Admin PowerShell. Result:- Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. Repeated SFC /scannow in Admin PowerShell, completed with same result.

I tried the dism and chkdsk and all...still can't get it working...if I go back to previous image and re update you think this problem would come back...it boggles me how I did the update from a fresh install untouched and got this search bar issue. Is it only me ?

For a while it didn't seem to be working but then sprung into life.

Search bar seems OK here. Everything looks present and correct when the ribbon is expanded.

Yeah mine took ages last night to spring into action, it was very sluggish. But since I've been using it today it all seems to just work. Amazes me though the number of difficulties there seem to be between users across the forum and the world I guess.
