Shawn, you're gonna get keyboard cramps tryin' to keep up that's six in this week and I see they've listed the Search with high CPU usage finally.

It's going to be serious when these fingers get cramped and knotted up.

Windows Defender quick and full scans will not fully scan all files ("Scan now"), I get report 14 files scaned, before scan stopped which took a few seconds. If you do a custom path scan, for example C:\Windows, that will scan the files.

Woody is totally wrong. Its the latest virus definitions that clobber Defender's quick scan. It's nothing to do with Defender as the same thing is seen in Windows 7 using MSE. See this thread for the true story.

Out of interest: Do you guys seriously initiate full / quick scan as a casual task? Genuinely curious?

Quick scans are periodically run automatically while the PC is idle (or you get prompted to do one if it's been a while since the last scan) so when you see only a handful of files have been scanned you start to worry.
