Does anyone have to know the particular Broadcom driver(s)? A few months ago, I made the single worst tech purchase of my life, an Asus PCE-AC88 WiFi adapter, and it has constant issues with disconnects over 5GHz. But it's been doing this constantly even with 1809, so this bug really interests me. It's the only device in my house that this happens to, and I've found many others with the same issue on 5GHz. It's fine on 2.4GHz, but you don't pay $100 for a WiFi adapter to use on 2.4GHz. Asus doesn't care, as evidenced by their response (none) to the many complaints on this. I have tried every version of bcmpciehd63.sys I have found online, but no luck.
As someone else mentioned, your adapter might have trouble using different 5ghz channels. This guy compiled a listing which includes your adapter and shows problems with some channels. I can't vouch for accuracy, but you might want to test it.

Hi Anak, I removed all my external USB disks but still had a mouse dongle when I did mine.
    Hi Kado, thanks!

That settles it then, I'm goin' back to the mouse. My last time stamp for updates check was Friday the 24th at 6:09pm and here it is I waited almost two days for another check. I'm thinking a: Reset Windows Update in Windows 10 is in order.

I'm also researching how I can add to the registry to increase the frequency of update checks.

This policy setting affects the following registry values:

    – HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU!DetectionFrequencyEnabled.

DetectionFrequencyEnabled Value: 1 = Enable DetectionFrequency. 0 = Disable custom DetectionFrequency.

    – HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU!DetectionFrequency

DetectionFrequency Value: Range=n; where n=time in hours (1-22).

    More on this at TechNet.

It's gonna take a bit of surgery as this is all I have in mine:

My first move may be adding an exclamation mark after the AU ! , Notice the difference between the TWC's key and mine?

After upgrade to 1903 I had this ESENT error over and over in event viewer.

    svchost (4304,R,98) TILEREPOSITORYS-1-5-18: Error -1023 (0xfffffc01) occurred while opening logfile C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log.

Solution was to go to Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\

Create the folder TileDataLayer then inside that folder create Database folder.

After I did that Windows automatically placed all the files in the Database folder.

Edit: I see this was already known in the insiders thread but I was not in the insiders program so I did not look at that thread before posting. You would think MS would have fixed this before release to the public.

Thanks for posting. I started getting Error (ESENT 455), not after installing W10 1903 but after deleting/cleaning Windows.old folder. This fix worked for me also.

Thanks, that's pretty interesting stuff. Unfortunately I use a Linksys Velop, and it appears they removed the option to change the 5GHz channels quite a while ago.

I have now returned one of my machines to its Macrium 1809 image. This was because of graphics driver issues with Intel HD Graphics. I have the latest available driver installed.

    Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400
    Driver Version: 20.19.15.5058
Operating System: Windows* 10 Pro (10.0.18362)

The symptoms are seen in 1903 when playing a long (2 hour) .mp4 video in the 'Films & TV' app (aka 'Movies & TV' outside the UK). Trying to jump forwards to (say) 1hour 45 mins by clicking on the Seek bar the system would hang for up to a minute with about 40% CPU activity before the jump would complete. On the same machine In 1809 the jump forwards is instantaneous. This same effect is seen in all my other video processing apps, such as video editors.

This must definitely be a problem with the way 1903 interacts with the Intel HD graphic driver. I have tested a 1903 VM running on on the same machine and Films & TV works perfectly there. This may be related to the (as yet unresolved) known issue in post #1.

I have tried installing the Insider CU KB4497935 but that didn't resolve it. I will wait until MS resolve the above known issue before trying 1903 again on this machine.

It's a shame really, because in all other respects 1903 works well. Video editing is one of my main uses for this particular machine, so it will stay on 1809 for now. I'll continue to use 1903 on my other machines.

The irony is, of all my machines that were on 1809, this particular one was the only one for which windows update showed the Features Update to 1903 as being available.

Are the Windows 10 versions done by alternating teams? as two bugs fixed in 1809 seem back in 1903

    * USB crash when accessing an old Kindle

    * Airport utility can no longer discover Airport devices

That would indicate they don't have a very good processes for change management and or source code management.
