It's I think a typical "Digital" Thought Process, Used by Programmers the world over - if you have an option that says DO NOT... then having this "enabled" WILL NOT allow you to perform the action.

Of course we are not Digital, and our organic mind sees the word ENABLE or ENABLED and assume that the controlled option is ON and NOT ENABLED or OFF means that the controlled option is OFF

There is even more confusion with the NOT CONFIGURED setting for negative options, as this means that the Default is used, and of course the default is likely to have been set by a different programmer or team to the one that designed the option, and thus may be ON or OFF, [or is that OFF or ON].
Being a former programmer Yes, you are totally correct. There needs to be more human like interactions between software and people/users. The mindset hasn't changed since the 80/90's and we have to move forward.

As a former programmer and system designer in the 80's and 90's believe me we were very much into standardisation and ease of use. We designed systems sitting alongside our users and they had the final word.

Yeah and his logic. All I had on machine controllers to program them.

I remember all of that. It was a shame we didn't have more options to the end user than a binary one.

Once again and just like the fall 2018 update, I have to keep manually checking for updates. It really makes me wonder just what those "windows insiders" actually test and check. I get sick of these so called feature updates that end up being a fail.

Please Microsoft, start releasing the 19H2 builds to Insiders. That will keep us happy for a while . Or perhaps whine about.
