You are really not supposed to do that. An image backup should really only be restored as a complete image. You can extract individual files but programs are so tied into the registry that all sorts of grief awaits you if you just restore them.
But what's the point of restoring a complete image, as it's just going to restore the previous version of Windows? Windows will be upgraded, the purpose of system backup is restoring just the applications and user data. I haven't had any issues after restoring the programs so far, however restoring the programs without also restoring the registry keys is pretty much useless.

In the end, backing up the system partitions was just for peace of mind, as I had to reinstall almost all applications, because registry keys that handle file associations and files on C: partition (like drivers) were wiped during the clean install.

My MCT ISO is from 5/22, virtually day 1. They've updated the base MCT version....that's good. Soon, it will be MCT base .145. That's the one I will tuck away.
Yes, I just created a new one earlier today.

Windows update is still not offering me version 1903. I am thinking of switching this machine to FAST just to see what happens.

I to was at 116 after using MCT, if I am not mistaken when you run it "upgrade this system" by default it checks for updates during the early phase (you can opt out) so I think there is a base version, them it adds any new updates and does the install.

Of course with USB issue it is easy to remove and the device just in case.

I did click the check for updates in settings and got the message that it was ready for download. I have two other older machines that have not yet received the feature update.
Is this with your signature PC? Did you update any drivers before you got it?

I don't understand why so many users are getting it now on older systems than I have, yet my clean, minimal, up-to-date system doesn't get it. I've taken all necessary precautions I can do, nothing.

I have a 7 year old Lenovo T430s with 8 gigs of RAM, 165 gig SSD, of which only 20 gigs are used. Everything up to date as of yesterday. Even uninstalled Malwarebytes just in case it was a problem.

    As of 7:30 a.m. today I still didn't have it either. I guess it's a waiting game.
