You could always create a DVD. That is, if your computer isn't so new it doesn't have one anymore.
My computer has a DVD and a Blu-Ray player so it is not as old as all that. I have already created a DVD but I am waiting to the weekend to do the clean install.

I was saying that kinda tongue in cheek because OEMs are slowly but surely eliminating the DVD drives in machines. My daughter has a Lenovo that's a couple or three years old that has no DVD drive. We had to buy her a "portable" one so she could install Paint Shop Pro and a couple other things.

We have three HP computers at the Senior Activity Center that can't boot from a USB Drive (they're that old), so I had to use a DVD. Now I think I'll be able to mount the ISO and go from there.

Were you disconnected from the network ?
If not, try disabling network connection and run setup from a mounted iso. Thats what I ended up doing on all my rigs and it ran.
    If not...i feel your pain.
I've tried it all to no avail. I also checked all the logs (event viewer and logs under c:\windows) and couldn't find a single useful clue. But lo and behold, this night it suddenly worked despite the fact that I didn't do anything different than before. Do I know why? Definitely not but I'm certainly not going to complain. Let's just assume Windows fixed itself

As with all previous upgrades, the Windows 7 games are uninstalled because they are supposed to be replaced by the Win 10 versions. It's an ongoing battle that I side-stepped by using the XP version of Solitaire

No, not strange - it's a known bug. The fix will be in the next cumulative update, currently being tested by Insiders in the Release Preview ring.

After installing this CU, the Settings app doesn't crash anymore after clicking the "Apps" section (after boot), Microsoft finally has back-ported the fix made in build 18860:

The Settings Apps crash has a fix in Release Preview which should be released in a few days.

You need to copy Sol.exe, Sol.chm and Cards.dll (and Freecell/Spider/MSHearts .exe/.chm, if you like) from an XP machine. No install required, just put them in any folder you like then run them from there. Pin Sol.exe to Start for ease of access.
