I would start a new thread and post what info you have. Doesn't sound like much, not even an error code.

Have you run SetupDiag to see if it has any info?
I will do this when I get home tonight and see what it says.

    Thanks Ken.

Upgraded using usb iso offline, got 18362.30.
    Then 3 x check for updates/restarts, now on .116.
Same way it worked for me on 3 pc's.

    Thanks for trying to help!

Trying to install on drive C:
Tried with AV and Malwarebytes removed and with them just completely disabled.
With your downloaded iso on c drive then, getting rid of any thing in your dvd drive and your usb drive, mount and run your iso from within windows. I have this on 5 computers, 4 of which I installed in this manner. It worked flawlessly and I have many third-party programs on these computers. The time varied from 35 minutes to 4.5 hours. The lengthy install was on an old laptop with many programs but an old centrino processor and only 4 gb memory. With all the programs on these computers, none are games. So, no game-blocking software that makes windows stumble and fail, as much as AV and malwarebytes does. Good luck.

Run SetupDiag from this link and review output.

Your error code also suggest disconnecting all unnecessary devices.

    Attachment 234834

I would not be using IOBIT driver update. Windows should keep Hardware drivers current, likely a driver your software added. (VPN's as example)
I unplugged all devices before upgrading, restarted with a clean boot, disabled all non-Microsoft services, disabled fast boot on Power Options, however, none of these measures were able to fix it. Here is the report of SetupDiag:

    Code:
SetupDiag was unable to match to any known failure signatures.

Guess the only option left is doing a clean install, though I've read several reports on Microsoft Anwsers forums that not even doing a fresh install was able to overcome this issue.

Noticed that under Settings, storage, on an old AMD laptop, 'Other' was taking up 9 GB space. On opening this showed a lot of AMD drivers so removed 4.93 GB,

then removed C:\SWSetup. Old version of Cyberlink I thought had been removed years ago.

Still showing 5.25 GB which is a bit odd?

AMD GPU and other drivers create AMD directory in C: where they unzip contents of downloaded .exe and install drivers from there. There are some more files in Program and Programs(64) folders which do not get overwritten or deleted when updating drivers. It's better to use DDU to clear older drivers before installing/updating them. That can save few MBs too.

Odd thing is the APU I have has not been supported since Catalyst version 15 and no auto update would work.
