After uninstalling them did you restart your computer? Again where is windows.iso located on your computer?
Yes, I always perform a clean boot before any upgrade attempt. I have tried all of the following "many" times. Microsoft assistant, iso mounted on D: drive, iso burned to DVD and USB flash drive.

Is that drive d where you want to install Windows 10? And did you get rid of av and malwarebytes?

Thank you MS for f...... up one more upgrade. Is this so hard to get? If you abort the upgrade process simply tell the user the f...... reason! How am I supposed to troubleshoot this without a crystal ball?
Polite posts get better replies. We are users, not MS. See the log files, not a crystal ball.

Windows Update still not showing anything other than Defender Definitions (running v1809b17763.529). I'm tempted to cheat downloading the update ISO, but will wait for Windows Update to pick it up.

Same here. Last time I got it right on time, now I'm being pushed back in this virtual "queue". I will wait when it's being offered through WU aswell, but I wish MS could elaborate on who's getting in the queue first. AFAIK I don't have anything that's blocking the update so this is either a case of new hardware gets it first, or maybe it is region based.

When it failed did it give you a link as to reason?
No link, just Update (or operation) failed).

Trying through WU just gives me the latest updates for 1809

Same here. Neither of our machines is getting offered it yet but will wait for WU. I don’t think there is too much rhyme or reason for the queue in reality. Like someone else said last time both our machines got it straight away via WU but the feature update before that one of my machines had to wait months! It’s just a lottery. Only thing is one of my machines has an internal card reader (with nothing in it) and usb hub connected for tidier mouse connection. Both machines have system restore on with some restore points. Maybe something there holding them back but they were never a problem before! Certainly not turning system restore off to force it in.

Can I pay more lottery tickets to increase my chances?
