Tried to update using an ISO, won't work:

"This PC can't be upgraded to Windows 10. Your PC has a driver or service that isn't ready for this version of Windows 10. No action is needed. Windows Update will offer this version of Windows 10 automatically once the issue has been resolved".

Removed all USB drives, removed SD-Card reader, none of the programs that are mentioned as problematic (like Battleye) are installed... Thank you MS for f...... up one more upgrade. Is this so hard to get? If you abort the upgrade process simply tell the user the f...... reason! How am I supposed to troubleshoot this without a crystal ball?

Both Temp Files and Clean Manager had/have a pre-set default of items checked. Neither will, or did, remember user optional checks.
What's funny is they both don't match if you open both, I have different checked options for each.

Running a Lenovo T430S with 147 gigs free. Currently on 1809. Tried every method I could (WU, MCT, Update Assistant) to update to 1903. Tried with and without a USB but nothing works. Just keep getting "installation failed" .

Guess I'll wait until MS comes up with a solution.

Here we go again: I'm trying to upgrade (not a clean install) a laptop to 1903 but I get this error:

    Code:
    0xc1900101 - 0x30018
The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operation.
I googled it and the issue seems to be related to drivers. Performed a DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth on a elevated PowerShell session, but I got "No component store corruption detected. The operation completed successfully." I wonder if using those driver updaters like IOBit Driver Booster can fix it? Any idea on how to solve it? Thanks in advance.

Somehow, that does not surprise me. Different coding groups deciding on what needs to be cleaned. Varietal Housecleaning.

When it failed did it give you a link as to reason?

Run SetupDiag from this link and review output.

Your error code also suggest disconnecting all unnecessary devices.

I would not be using IOBIT driver update. Windows should keep Hardware drivers current, likely a driver your software added. (VPN's as example)

Since it did not make any difference when I did uninstall malwarebytes and my AV earlier, I just started disabling them within the program so they would not start with windows and I disabled them in startup and in services.
After uninstalling them did you restart your computer? Again where is windows.iso located on your computer?

I updated my W10 last night from 1803 to 1903. So far, so good. I like this version a lot better than the 2 installs I did of 1809. Each time I upgraded to 1809, I reverted back to 1803. But I think, there's a good chance this time I ll leave 1803 behind (my favorite W10 version to this point).

Were you disconnected from the network ?
If not, try disabling network connection and run setup from a mounted iso. Thats what I ended up doing on all my rigs and it ran.
    If not...i feel your pain.
