For over a month I've been running 1903 on a VM clone of my main machine. I have had no problems with it, so I have now upgraded the original physical machine (and, as expected, had no problems).

One thing for ya'll to remember, don't forget to up date your CPU's Microcode when going from 1809 to 1903
KB4497165 Intel microcode updates for Windows 10 Insider v1903 May 14

To see if your CPU needs it go to the page and use either Find or CTRL + F and type your CPU model in.

Isn't it already included in 1903? That's lame... These updates should go through automatically IMO.

Hmm. That was a good thought. Mine was listed, but the update says it's not applicable to my system (used the first one for x64).

Anyhow, I errored out again this morning through regular WU with Windows 10 1903 error 0x80240034. Not sure what to do now. I even pulled all of the cards (raid, etc.) of the system so all I had left was the graphic card.

I'll try again later today— life still goes on outside these frustrating times with Win 10. Still like the OS though.

    Nope they're not.
Microsoft has only forced Microcode updates once, these new vulnerabilities are not so bad for a normal consumer, unless you have a server farm in your cellar, or do hosting.

That’s lame. I use system restore. It has been a valuable tool to get me out of a hole a few times. I’m still waiting for it to be offered to both my machines in Windows update. I’m going to leave it on and hope all goes ok when the update finally comes through from WU. Has anyone had successful installs whilst keeping system restore on?
if things like usb drives and system restore can cause install failures then they really should not of been releasing this to the general public until these issues are fixed
I done a restore point as soon I seen the update to 1903 on WU. When the restore was done I clicked on download and install 1903. All went well. Only thing I noticed was I had to install the Creative SB driver package again, that's normal. I did not disable my ESET Internet Security. That stayed intact and is working properly. All smooth here.

    cheers

I updated using ISO I got thru MCT and it works fine. Did all kinds of tests and benchmarks and not a single problem. Make a backup and don't worry,

I have done 3 PCs and no problems. Just turn off restore point creation and delete the ones you have, make sure no USB external drives are plugged in/turned on, and go for it.

If you have more than one PC to upgrade, make an ISO.

    hi all
anybody knows why there is difference in size between "MCT" ISO file and "windows-iso-downloader" ISO file from HeiDoc.net? while it seems that they are from same source!
