    Is there a way to tell if the MCT is updated to .145?
    As others have already said, after you've used the MCT to download the ISO you can See Full Details about a Windows 10 ISO file

    But I've found a neat trick to see what build it will be without having to download the ISO.

    The MCT doesn't get updated, that's why it's always 18362.1. what MS updates when they change the build of the ISO it will create is the file that defines which .esd files it will download (and where it will download them from) that's called Products.xml. This file is one of the first things that the MCT downloads.

    Just run the MCT until you see the Software License page. Do NOT close the MCT yet. Open the file: C:\$Windows.~WS\Sources\Products.xml in Notepad. There you will see an esd for every possible language and version the MCT can create. The build number is included in the names of the esd files, currently they are all still on 18362.30. For example:

    18362.30.190401-1528.19h1_release_svc_refresh_CLIENTCONSUMER_RET_x64FRE_en-us.esd

    Code:
              <File>
                <FileName>18362.30.190401-1528.19h1_release_svc_refresh_CLIENTCONSUMER_RET_x64FRE_en-us.esd</FileName>
                <LanguageCode>en-us</LanguageCode>
                <Language>English</Language>
                <Edition>Professional</Edition>
                <Architecture>x64</Architecture>
                <Size>3353657540</Size>
                <Sha1>a7d24d7a7d015d2fa858702c679ec47c9c5c6a6f</Sha1>
                <FilePath>http://fg.ds.b1.download.windowsupdate.com/c/Upgr/2019/04/18362.30.190401-1528.19h1_release_svc_refresh_clientconsumer_ret_x64fre_en-us_a7d24d7a7d015d2fa858702c679ec47c9c5c6a6f.esd</FilePath>
                <Key />
                <Architecture_Loc>%ARCH_64%</Architecture_Loc>
                <Edition_Loc>%CLIENT%</Edition_Loc>
                <IsRetailOnly>False</IsRetailOnly>
              </File>

    When down you can close the MCT. Products.xml (and other files) will be deleted as it cleans up before closing.

    C:\$Windows.~WS is a hidden folder.
    Still on 18362.30
    This means I won't be able to do an in-place upgrade from a flash drive with the iso file.
    Will have to wait for 18362.145 which is supposed to fix this.

    My iso is 6GB because I need both 32 & 64 bit. My Asus tablet is 32-bit because the UEFI BIOS is 32-bit. It also only has 2GB RAM. It has 64GB of eMMC. I tried another download today on the desktop. It wouldn't make the iso until it had 16GB of free space on the C-Drive. It had 15.9 GB. Had to add/delete/move partitions to get it to work.

    That may change on Patch Tuesday....

    Microsoft said:
    Resolution: This issue was resolved in KB4497935. The safeguard hold will be removed following the June Update Tuesday release.

    If the MS 'resolution' can be taken at face value, the 18362.30 media should be able to do an in-place upgrade with USBs attached, provide you let it check for updates as part of the upgrade.

    I am still willing to wait my turn for 1903 but it is yet to be offered. I have 2 copies of W10 both were updated to 1809 without issue. Each W10 is on it's own SSD, mounted only one at a time in the same computer. One copy was offered 1903 in the very beginning and installed without issue. However, the 2nd SSD, in the same computer, fails to receive WU invite? Different UN & PW's but otherwise identical. Puzzling to say the least.

    I let USBDLM handle drive letter assignment.

    There was at least one post that said you could do an inplace upgrade from an attached USB device if the computer was not connected to internet. I never tested but I did note comment.

    Yep, I saw that, Ken, but didn't test it either.

    Updated my 1809 build to 17763.557 today as part of the monthly CU rollout… No 1903 in sight… What is going on!? I am going to contact MS tomorrow and ask them how this feature update really detects a "blocked" system in more details because this is ridiculous. And to anyone asking; "why don't you just use WUA or ISO images", then let me ask you this; What's the point of Windows Update if it's unable to keep my system up-to-date?

    Yeah, so how does this work exactly?

    1903 is marked as released and support period kicked in already?
