That is true, the configuration has been changed from 1809 to 1903. All you have to do is to click on "Configure Storage Sense or Run it" at the top of the window; that should open another window where you have to scroll completely at the bottom and click on "Clean now" button. that should do it. LOL
I still think this is quicker, and more complete. My pic is AFTER I had already run the cleanup, so Previous Windows does not show in it, but it did. IMO.. How to get the Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903

Installed using upgrade assistant, the only thing I have noticed so far is 8gadget pack would not run, so I downloaded the latest version and installed it all my gadgets were still there and running. Open Shell seems to be trouble free I don't use much of it other than the GUI. So far so good. I believe I'll wait awhile before installing on my other units.

Upgraded my Dell Inspiron 13 all seem to be OK, it took three tries, I finally put my dell 15 dock on and then the update ran? again 8 gadget pack is not compatible, but on this one I did a repair install of 8gadgetPack Ver 28, had to reinstall my clock gadget and System Monitor 11 using gadgets by Lgogo add gadget seems to have lost interest Lgogo has updated and improved many gadgets

Your method seems to work also. I have just tested it on my second machine running Skippy/Fast by clicking on Temporary Files, but I don't know if it does a complete job as the one I pointed out to, which is what MS seems to favor.

Are you removing Onedrive? If yes, then we have the same issue. The shown pop-up is exactly what fixed the bug for me. Another solution is to get rid of Onedrive leftover in Revo Uninstaller Pro.

So, as shown in the screenshot, install it and the bug will disappear.

    Take care,
Uninstalled onedrive and all leftovers with revo. Installed it again. Also installed the one from store and problem is still present

Another thing I see is that my windows boot time has increased a lot after this upgrade. Not really happy with this update !

Well I have not given up yet, but I sure am ready.
I have tried a dozen or more additional times and I still get the same error.
Error: SetupDiag reports fatal migration plug-in failure.
    Plug-in Name = %windir%\system32\migration\SxsMigPlugin.dll
    Migration Operation = IPostApply->PostApply
    Plug-in Error: 0x00000002

It goes all the way through to the update processing and then on the final reboot it immediately reverses the changes and reverts back to 1809.
Did you uninstall malwarebytes also? Where is your windows.iso located?

Since it did not make any difference when I did uninstall malwarebytes and my AV earlier, I just started disabling them within the program so they would not start with windows and I disabled them in startup and in services.

This is interesting, because I also have Storage Sense turned on for automatic cleansing (Cleaning? Cleansing? Scrubbing? ), and use the Temporary Files method also, which seems to be a UI version of cleanmgr.exe. So, theoretically, using both is the best of both worlds, if there is one. Not sure how you'd go about monitoring it to keep score, since it's a dynamic process.....files in and out continuously. For sure, I'm a space-clean-nut (among other types), so I will keep an eye on it.

I notice storage>temporary files doesn't remember the settings you check or uncheck, where the clean manager did before.

Both Temp Files and Clean Manager had/have a pre-set default of items checked. Neither will, or did, remember user optional checks.

I understood after my previous post that you were using both methods. I am totally with you on that, since I am myself a strong space-clean-nut just like you.
