Looks like they are going for that irritating drip feed approach so you never know when you’re going to get it. Will still wait for Windows update to offer it as have never forced a feature update before. But they should take a leaf out of apple’s book. A new Mac OS or iOS gets released and everyone gets offered it
    That's because they can.
They know exactly what hardware and drivers their Mac machines are using, Windows machines can be any combination of ten zillion different components and their drivers.

Your right but I do think Macs and respective iOS devices now have a pretty wide variety of hardware and possible combos in them plus I have all sorts of non App Store software on my Mac. But yes it is a little easier for them. I just find MS approach a little annoying

Is this the third "cumulative" update for 1809 in May? I thought the idea a monthly "cumulative" update was to save time and aggravation for the user by offering all the monthly updates in one cumulative update. What MS is doing seems more akin to the "Final Going Out Of Business Sales" that some stores have weekly.

Updated from 17763.529 using the MS Download Tool to Ver. 1903 Build 18362.116 Pro Retail. It took about two hours and all is working well.

KB4497934 installed in just a few heart beats without hiccup besides losing temporary my keyboard layout (had to resart the computer to get my multilingual keyboard back), then checked for update again and wasn't offered 1903... not that I'm complaining here! I won't mind waiting a few updates before jumping.
