@ddelo thanks for cpu-info script.
On the left wu microcode, on the right the uefi/bios version?
uefi micro code > wu micro code
can i skip the KB4497165 for now ?
The table on page 1 appears to be out of date. Does anyone have the latest links to the latest microcode versions by CPU supported by Microsoft and Intel?
That's the latest one I have seen.
I really don't know if there is a newer one.
BTW Steve, I updated the BIOS yesterday, in my hp laptop. Check for your laptop too.
I have AMD processor and i got this update today. Is that ok ?
Georges98 this is exactly what i've been asking about since yesterday. I even made a damn topic about it in the Windows Updates forum and still no concrete answer.
I installed KB4497165 through WU yesterday and so far only 1 think i noticed : i got a few crashes in Crysis 2 but i think that might have been because of the game itself.
I checked with Event Viewer and found only
Event ID 1002 = application crash, meaning it was the game itself crashing
Event ID 1000 = unknown crashes, meaning it could literally be anything
Tested in a few other games also but no crashes.
I literally have no idea if this update messed up my system or not. I'm hoping it didn't but i guess i'll find out if any more games crash.
That table doesn't list the i5-3570K CPU in my desktop PC but this update did the update to microcode 0x21 correctly as reported by your script. It seems the table on page 1 is up to date.
Running microcode revision : 0x21 (loaded by Microsoft Windows 10 Pro)
UEFI CPU microcode revision : 0x1F
The security status now appears to be quite good for this 8 year old CPU:

they pushed this on me i had no choice but to install it AMD as well i did notice one odd thing about the whole install it went to restart no update counter percentage just a regular restart , i have not noticed one thing at all. so i think quit honestly it shows installed but it did not install a thing, i went looking for it and can't find any trace of it on the pc or in the bios. i think maybe the update just took a look upon reboot and noticed amd not intell and just stuck a place holder so we wont get another update. i could be wrong but could be a possibility.
