" and so it goes....".............you mean ; once installed and not possible to install (update?) to newer ( latest) version......??
yup - it's only the metadata that has changed for MUC & WU, not the actual downloads which are the same ones released in the MUC since late Jan 2020 (still KB4497165-v4)
when KB4497165 was first released last year, it was only available from MUC. starting late last month, it has become available thru WU & may be automatically be pushed to v1903/v1909 users if using affected CPUs
Not at all, in the wisdom of Microsoft and windows updates anything is possible so no matter how convoluted the delivery a seemingly identical update can have its doppelganger installed over itself without the appearance of impropriety meanwhile leaving the user thoroughly perplexed as to what had just occurred, it has happened before and it will happen again...I believe Microsoft calls it supersedence.
I'm not sure what my style of humor is called but when I saw you state: "same number of bytes each month ! " I immediately thought of pac-man (an update) and how he (it) gobbled up all those bits with bytes only to have it repeated over and over and over and so it goes...., ergo my need to visually represent that.
I apologize if my post caused any confusion and if you like I will gladly delete it.

Haven't checked my other pcs yet

i use i5-9600K cpu and now from wu i found the KB4497165.
My Mobo manufacurer in the same time has relased an bios update with this changelog:

Should i update the Bios only, WU(KB4497165) only or both ?
