It installed on my AMD system with no issues. If you don't want to install it then you can hide the update.

If it forces the update and has no effect on your performance then I'd leave it installed otherwise you can always uninstall it.

Well that's the whole reason why i was asking if it affects performance in any way... i certainly don't want to install if it makes my CPU underperform.

Yes I know. I've found no difference in performance but I'm not a gamer. There's little info about it on the net so I can only go by my experience.

Same here I'm running an old Wolfdale core 2 duo processor, and the update installed today. Everybody must get this update.
Finally got an update for my older processor also. Thought they forgot about the wolfdale hehehe. Installed successfully.

It updated my Lenovo desktop, which is an AMD Ryzen-based system; running Win 10 1909. I guess that MS' quality control slipped again. Luckily, the update seems to have had no adverse effect on my PC.

Sorry, I'm not a gamer, but yes seems OK for my needs. Interesting, the restart after the install was odd-ball in that it went directly to my lock screen w/o the traditional "Don't turn off your computer..." message. Maybe the update realized it was in the wrong place. LOL! Question: Should I uninstall KB4497165? Thanks for any feed back.

    This is getting ridiculous already.

Can't anyone tell us AMD users if the update is good to install or not ??

Why the hell does MS keep pushing idiotic updates without ever knowing if they're good or not.

AMD users don't need it! It only contains microcode for Intel so it will have no effect on an AMD PC. Intel users will likely not see any difference in performance. The next version of Windows 10 will have it included anyway!
