I was just reading this link about how some people SHOULD NOT do the upgrade:
Don’t Press Windows 10 2004 ‘Update Now’ Button, Microsoft Warns Some Users
Forbes always spin their stories for maximum alarm (clickbait, as others have said) but if you read it carefully the gist of the story is that (as with all previous feature updates) there are some hardware/software combinations that have issue yet to be resolved. Microsoft block such machines from being offered the feature update in Windows Update until they have resolved those issues.
Yes, those people who do not see the update offered in windows update should not do the upgrade by other means, such as downloading the ISO using the MCT. But it's hardly a disaster story, it's Microsoft being sensible and only updating machine known to be capable of a trouble free update.
My System One in my specs below got offered 2004 on the first day of release and is now running 2004 without issues. My other machines that do not see the feature update being offered will wait until it is offered to them.
I think there is also a lot of throttling the update so it slowly gets out so the issues won't be out of control, user size.
On my system, the first hrs knowing it released I updated my 1909 VM to 2004 with no issues there except for mouse getting stuck in one part of updating cycle.
I then later tried the main system which is an older 3570k with 16gig and 850evo SSD, no Bluetooth or wireless audio drivers, basic install, no external devices. I am not seeing anything with checking for updates, I think if there were HW conflicts you would get that message saying your not ready yet.
Yes, MS have done that with previous Feature Updates too. For example, when 1903 was released....

The E7270 got offered 1903 two month after 1903 was released. Neither the E7440 or E7270 have been offered 2004 yet...
As usual I'm going to wait a while until MS sort out the usual bugs in their feature update. I saw Edge legacy is being deprecated. Is that going to be removed in this release. In that case do you need Edge Chromium if you already use Google Chrome?
