    90% of the time I'll update my Windows 10 Pro PC with the latest Microsoft updates. However, I was just reading about some users experiencing data loss from the most recent update?!

    Is it a good idea to install the latest update?

    Forbes and that author especially, are not trust worthy when it comes to Windows 10 information.
    They are just click bait, and over stress any problems, misinform, or even just get it plain wrong.

    They are just as bad as when the Verge did that PC build guide.

    So, with just less than 24 hrs for this to hit us regular people.......do any of you insider users or anyone for that matte, know if this feature update will delete/not have the old control panel option? I'm just curious.

    How many more feature updates are we going to have before all the remnants for 7 are completely gone?

    I hope they will be always there, I'm still using CP much more than settings. Old school.

    And I can't wait until all CP is gone, because I have found with settings app, that after upgrades(not to be confused with updates) settings are remembered and respected, where CP stuff can get changed.

    It's as if settings app is more like Linux where everything, including system settings is a file, and not a registry entry, so are saved better.

    Hi there

    CP is much easier to navigate -- the other "settings" seem to be designed to obfuscate the whole process as much as possible - why on earth Ms ever decided to attempt to get away from control panels is still a mystery to me -- admin options could always be disabled or hidden to stop bog standard users from wrecking their machines.

    There's still too many people around who think desk top OS's (and laptops) should basically be the same as Mobile phone type of interfaces. I have yet to see one UWP (used to be called "Metro" ) type app that is better in any way whatsover or functionally superior to a standard app - especially whne dealing with multi-monitor environment and using really large screens.

    @Cliff S

    Linux has many ways of adjusting settings -- everything is a file anyway !!!!

    However for those who like graphical settings : IMO a much better way of showing this than the Windows settings offering

    Too many functions in Settings end up as classic CP applets when pushed further than first stage. It will take many years to get everything working in Settings at same level of adjustments. To say nothing about bad level of user friendliness in Settings, some have poor options and others are clear as mud. Those switches in Settings are also counter intuitive, the feel like question and answer to "Do you don't wont to turn that off".
