Thank you. I hope the drivers and software are coming from WU because HP stopped updating my machine a long while ago. There update page still shows W7 as the operating system for my Pavilion. The only way I get updates now are from MS and WU.
As drivers are concerned, MS still depends on FW manufacturer's good will to update their drivers and present them to MS for certification and distribution thru WU or Device manager. HW, FW and drivers are property of HW manufacturer (or it's firmware and driver developer) and it's their duty to have them available to customers.
One of my main gripes against brand name computers.

Usually these issues are resolved by MS updating the feature update to work with the existing 'problem' hardware, or in the case of 3rd-party software working with the 3rd-party so they can issue a compatible update to their software. Third-party AVs can be an example of this.

But MS are right in saying there's nothing you need to do, once the issues has been resolved (at their end) you should get the update offered. The fact that MS say you are not quite ready means they think a solution may be possible soon.

Same goes for software devs, specially those who are Microsoft partners

Yes that too, many windows applets are from 3rd party developers for which MS pays royalties. Remeber W95 and it's beta version ? Beta had Norton utilities built in, Norton wanted money for it so MS said "Screw it" and deleted it from final 95, Couple of months later they bought Norton lock, stock and barrel and included parts as optional.

    Hi,
Most generic ms drivers should be fine
    Most issues are graphic's
If you install a graphic's card instead of using onboard graphic's you use nvidia or amd drivers instead.

Hi, is it worth upgrading from Windows 10 1909 to 2004 yet?

No, not really. There's nothing significantly new in 2004 and there are still a few bugs to iron out. Unless you're desperate to try it out I'd recommend holding of for at least a couple of months. 1909 will continue to be supported until May 2021, so there's no rush.
