    @jimbo45,

    Hi there,
    I was wondering how come Windowblinds is working in that Insider build on your PC. It seems to be not working on mine, so much so that I had to uninstall it since the day I joined the Fast flight. I said to myself that I'll try to find out if there is a way to make it work, but never did.

    I was kind of encouraged when you said you have it on this build to the point that I was about to reinstall it just today. I probably will later this afternoon...

    Hi there
    I didn't have windowblinds installed --I just did a quote which incorporated an image from another poster --actually I hated the interface !!!!

    Sorry for the confusion

    Cheers

    You must understand @Edwin. We mere mortals, we have a rule "do not fix it if it's not broken". Customizing geeks like Edwin, it's turned to "do tweak it if it's still working".

    Edwin is the only geek who I know who can make Windows totally non-functioning because of various DLL and other tweaks, then blame Microsoft's bloody annoying Windows for OS crashing all the time...

    Hi there

    absolutely spot on

    Old Engineering saying of course "If it ain't broke -- don't fix it" !!

    @Kari

    Thanks for your replies on HYPER-V -- have got now reasonably good VM as a testbed - even got a kindle working on Linux VM on HYPER-V -- only thing I can't get is Mobile phone direct connection and sound - sound 100% not important on the VM which I will use as a server after testing -- your replies are worth 100's of EUR on some useless courses !!!!!!

    All my multi-media and backup servers working as well as samba and file server and also squid Internet proxy server. Am working on sendmail / postfix but that's not a HYPER-V problem.

    Thanks again !!!

    Cheers

    Ah! Good to let me know. So, I am not going to try to reinstall it (WindowBlinds), for it would be a waste of time. Thanks Mate! Cheers! LOL

    I think it was @Edwin that has Windows Blinds running.

    You are so right. Confusion started from post # 118. Good catch. Thanks!

    I have to agree with @Kari—all those apps that put hooks into windows make an operating system that already is fragile more likely to crash and burn. However some feel this is the way to deep-test.

    Hi there

    I'll have to invite @Edwin on a private small plane where I'm the pilot -- would he want me to tinker with it while I was in the air.

    I love small planes but I really only want to fix them while I'm on the ground not while flying it !!.

    Actually we shouldn't be too hard on the guy -- we all need a bit of experimentation and innovation --I'm sure there are uses for Windows that the original designers hadn't even thought of -- never mind even considering whether it was possible or not.

    Cheers
