This update was unexpected for a Saturday. I left it to it over lunch just popping in to restart and do a disk clean. All seems good so far.

This release won't let me shut down a VM properly with HYPER V. I can though power it off.
That's a CentOS VM. It is always better to shut down / power off Linux VMs using native OS Shut down and Power off functions, instead of Shut down and Power off buttons in Hyper-V VM connection window.

Took a long time, one pass and it is done. No errors.

GSOD and failed on 1st attempt. Trying again.
I had occasional failures as well until I learned NOT to immediately restart when the updates says to reboot. I waited for a few minutes and then restarted and it has never failed me since. I have a feeling that the system was not really done with the prelims even tho it says it is. For those of you who are getting first time failure after the restart, wait 5 minutes before hitting that button. It MAY help.

Thank you John. I'll give that a try next time.

It may work but I've not had any of these failures and I hit the restart button as soon as it appears.

I also noticed that but I usually also make an ISO before restart so that takes another 10 minutes or so. While doing that I watch detailed Task manager and can see more is going on than just that.

. Maybe that depends on one's system configuration (hardware & others like apps, games, A-V, …)

Same here. This may have nothing to do with it, but I chalk up a lot of my update success to not having done a clean install since the original downloaded from MS when I first started with Windows 10 Insider Preview.
