    Surprising how many people don't use this method considering its quicker. Was doing the same with Daemon tools virtual cd years ago, before Win10
    Ya gotta know these machines are older'n dirt, and it's pretty hard to get them to update at all. The Senior Activity Center's ITs didn't want to do it because of the time involved, even with TeamViewer, so they've allowed me to do it physically. Mounting hasn't worked in the past, but since I now have them all on Windows 10, it will probably work.

    BTW, can I "change my mind" to pause updates for 7 days?

    Yes, there's a 'Resume updates' button. This is from 1903 Home....

    Thanks, Bree. I thought so, but wanted to be sure since I've never tried that.

    As you'd expect from any 501c3 org, Internet is slower than molasses in January and I don't want our class time taken up with watching Windows download . . .

    You could always play this video while it's updating, and maybe get them to sing along

    Wynona...I get ya. I hope you didn't think I was knocking you, as I also still have an old PGA775 socket sitting in the corner, which got retired not long ago for that very same reason. Too much hard work to run Win10 when I have 2 other boxes already. It was more the point that the usb issue was affecting everyone who wanted to install, yet I think the ISO mounting method alluded them....as sometimes it does with all of us.

    Hi there

    @OldOzzie

    this release also works with a hideously old and humungously heavy Sony VAIO laptop machine with a Pentium IV processor that uses more electricity than I suspect Langley's CIA uses in their US headquarters -- and the amount of hot air blasting through the ventholes makes any other heating in my "den" quite redundant !!!!

    Works with an SSD also blindingly fast as well -- internal screen still doesn't have 1920 X 1080p but at least it does have an HDMI port -- no USB 3 ports though - but does have USB2 and optical device which is what I used to create the install media for it -- I almost had to turn my place upside down to find a blank DVD --who uses those any more !!! but it worked. 8GB RAM no UEFI and at least x-64 architecture supported. Even got a VM to run on it -- power consumption though of those old devices would probably have "The Green Party" round at my door to chuck me into cold sea for "recycling" !!!!

    Cheers

    Has anyone been able to get the Sandbox option to work with 1903 Home? It fails for me right at start with an obscure message about a connection being lost.

    Hi there

    I think you have to enable HYPER-V Services too on W10 Home -- you can't enable HYPER-V itself because that's not available on W10 HOME.

    Now I'm guessing here as I don't have W10 Home but it's worth a try. If it fails then OK - as I said I can't test this as I don't have the OS to try it with.

    On W10 PRO it works fine.

    Cheers
