    I just do not get all this about when will it be released. It can be installed now and it will get updated. Live on the edge and go for it.

    If that Late May notion sticks, my guess is it ought to be between the 28th-31th (last week of the month).
    Monday, May 27, is a Holiday in U.S. of A. Memorial Day. Doubt MS is gonna crawl back to work the next day after cookouts and "refreshments" and pop a Feature Update. It'll take 'em several days to detox! Therefore, week prior, Wednesday Hump Day 22nd.

    We are in a guessing game right now, but I will go with @cereberus in post #102.

    I would hope they can at least give some forewarning. I am in the habit of regularly clicking check for updates. I don’t know what would happen if I tried to shutdown if some kind of update or definition update was happening (or downloading) in the background. So if I check for updates manually upon boot and just before shutdown I feel I am in control (I do the same for office 365). By the same token I don’t enjoy nasty surprises coming through windows update especially not when fully prepared so would be nice if they would give a slightly more accurate indication. I’m not in the habit of forcing an update (iso etc) as I have always relied on Windows update to offer each update to me.

    of course what would be even nicer is to cut back on these feature updates. Twice a year seems overkill. I though Apple was bad with it’s iOS but at least they only force the Russian roulette wheel once a year

    As you have Pro, you can defer each version by a year and only feature update once a year.

    @Scottyboy99,

    Your fear will be over with the upcoming FU:

    Download and install now option provides users a separate control to initiate the installation of a feature update on eligible devices with no known key blocking compatibility issues. Users can still “Check for updates” to get monthly quality and security updates. Windows will automatically initiate a new feature update if the version of Windows 10 is nearing end of support. We may notify you when a feature update is available and ready for your machine. All Windows 10 devices with a supported version will continue to automatically receive the monthly updates. This new “download and install” option will also be available for our most popular versions of Windows 10, versions 1803 and 1809, by late May.
    You will also have, starting with 19H1, an orange indicator in the Power Button of the start menu alerting you to restart your machine.
    I am a bit like you always checking for Updates but with no fear because I am always counting on my system image backup always up-to-date in case something uncalled for happens.

    Update fails to install. Every time I install this May update it installs the latest cumutive update but when patch Tuesday rolls around it fails every time installing the latest update every time. I am not wasting my time running that useless sfc /scannow as it is the most worthless tool ever saying everything is fine when it is not.

    Also stupid Windows 10 keeps installing the failed update losing disk space I already lost over 2 GB and counting of space.

    I am going to have to go back to the Fall update again using Macrium reflect.

    I'm curious as to how everyone will acquire 1903, as a clean install, or just add it as a major update to your OS?
