    Really? You sure?

    • Firefox 66.0.5 has been released, and we recommend that people update to that version if they continue to experience problems with extensions being disabled. You’ll get an update notification within 24 hours, or you can initiate an update manually. An update for ESR users will be available tomorrow. We’re also working on a fix for older versions of Firefox, and will update this post and on social media as we have more information. (May 7, 15:37 EDT)
    • A Firefox release has been pushed — version 66.0.4 on Desktop and Android, and version 60.6.2 for ESR. This release repairs the certificate chain to re-enable web extensions, themes, search engines, and language packs that had been disabled (Bug 1549061). There are remaining issues that we are actively working to resolve, but we wanted to get this fix out before Monday to lessen the impact of disabled add-ons before the start of the week. More information about the remaining issues can be found by clicking on the links to the release notes above. (May 5, 16:25 EDT)

66.0.4 was the initial fix, then FF found out some people with Master Passwords had issues, so out came 66.0.5.

The additional issue @f14tomcat refers to is described here....

This is fixed with Firefox 66.0.5. This section applies only if you have 66.0.4...
If you have a master password that has not been used for a while, the fix in 66.0.4 might not take effect....

Better to fix it with another patch than just let it go. IMO.

I think the LastPass issue can be taken care of in the LastPass control panel. Have it not trust your browser and have your browser not save passwords.

I have FF 66.0.4. I reset FF back to defaults but it still would not install the addons. After about 5 minutes and a restart it installed mine and works fine now. It must have installed the FF fix in those few minutes.

Thanks for that, essenbe. I followed your suggestion and found that I needed to set the LastPass option to sign out when the browser is closed. This must have been default when I installed LastPass long ago and somehow it got changed recently, perhaps as part of the issue that caused my Add-ons list to appear blank.

I'll wait a few days for the dust to settle on the 66.0.5 fix and then see about repairing my profile so the Add-ons list shows properly. Firefox seems to work normally other than the blank Add-ons list, the Add-ons seem to function properly.

Good to see that. Least they fessed up politely and honestly, and are doing the right thing. Can't undo the past.
