This "CU" (Cumulative Update) is for 18362.53--it is the topper for the v1903 official build set to be released by Microsoft in a few days. You *want* 18362.86...! *Do not leave home without it!* Never fear, you are in the right place.
Stay in the *Slow ring* if you intend to remain an Insider but want to hang on to the stable 1903 build for several more weeks prior to jumping to the next series build, H2! That's exactly what I am doing--been in the Insiders since Oct. 1 2014!
Thanks for the replies.
So installing this won't then start offering up beta builds for the next version of Win 10?
Hi everyone, did anyone noticed that some group policy settings are not working or it's just me?
For example I tried to disable Windows defender via "gpedit" and it's just not doing anything.
As a non-Insider, I downloaded the 18362.30 ISO from UUP Dump and upgraded a VM of my main machine (10 Home) as a test. It immediately updated to .53 as expected, along with updates for Flash and the anti-malware engine.
I'm still not an Insider, so not in any 'ring', but it now says KB4497093 is available....
BTW, nice to see 'download and install now' is working as promised in Home.
I'm on build 18362.53 (slow ring) and this update has repeatedly failed on my main PC. It's also failed on my other 5 PCs. Has anyone else had this problem?
I now have it in the slow ring, it took about ten minutes.
@enigma101, as I said earlier, as a non-insider I'm not even in any sort of 'ring', but I still got it successfully.
As noted by @Phone Man, Service Stack updates are not listed in Update History, only in 'uninstall updates'. But I got KB4498524 through windows update at the same time.
Apparently KB4498524 is a prerequisite for installing KB4497093.
New KB4498524 Servicing Stack Update for Windows 10 v1903 - April 26 Insider - Windows 10 Forums...a new KB4498524 servicing stack update has been released that may be required to be installed first before getting KB4497093.
