    Hey guys.
    Just a question.
If you are on this Windows 10 Insider 1903 build.
Can you do an inplace upgrade when it officially releases in May to keep all your apps etc or do you have to do a clean install?

In this case, the Release Preview track, the answer is yes. Within the other insider tracks, which are already at 20H1, the answer is different.
Just stay in this RP track until you got the official release, then you can leave the insider program without any consequences.

    Hi there
I've installed this from 1803 and 1809 computers -- I used the UUPDUMP method and just did update (i.e keep applications and files) -- no problems for me so far except the well known VMWare issue. There's no expiry in this build either so nothing to stop you using it.

I'd suggest though before updating to this release ensure your current release(s) are up to date and when installing this release it's best not to have any SD card / USB drive attached during the install process.

    Cheers

A few years ago I was using a Release Preview and after it was released I exited the Insider program and it left the new version as is. I assume the same will happen this time and no need to reinstall the release version. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I keep waiting for them to make 18362 available on the Insider Preview download page, but that build is still 18343.
I'm not sure you can get 18362 without being on RP, Larc. I know they announced it and I got it, but I have RP activated on 1809.

You can simply find the ISO for the latest build which we know now is RTM, and install it like regular Windows.
I've never joined the preview program and have all the cumulative updates, and a fully registered Win 10 Pro licence.

Yep, I know that, but Larc is an Insider; besides, he knows how to find 18362.xx if he wants it. As he said, he's waiting for it to show up on the "Insider Preview download page" and that's not going to happen until final release if I correctly understand what Microsoft has told us.

It has shown up for those of us who have "Release Preview" activated. I tried to get it to show up on a computer that's up-to-date with 1809, but isn't an "Insider" machine with Release Preview active. It didn't . . .
