Note The drive reassignment is not limited to removable drives. Internal hard drives can also be affected.
...what? This does not bode well for those with multiple drives on their computer and those who moved their user folder to another drive.

Interesting small detail in this excerpt:

"For Windows Insiders, this issue is resolved in build 18877 and later builds."

Sure seems to imply a new build lurking...............
    Hopeful and waiting, f14tomcat

About a year ago, I had an update that made both my data drives RAW. Since then, I only have the C: connected when "updating" and thankfully never had a problem since. (knock, knock)

Seems a DVD burner and drive come in handy again. The laptop I couldn't install 18362 in using a USB drive luckily has a DVD drive. Installing from a DVD I burned worked flawlessly.

Looks like new update coming for 1903.

UPDATE 4/26: We have released Build 18362.86 (KB4497093) for Windows Insiders who are currently in the Fast ring only and on Build 18362.53. We’ll roll this out to the Slow and Release Preview rings in a bit.
