Rumor pegs Windows 9 release for next year, Windows 10 as a Cloud OS.

I think it really depends on the individual. Myself it is not a necessary evil, albeit my youngest son swears by it (Apple Cloud). It seems that for those on the go it is nice to have, but all of us old farts just can't seem to find a use for it. . .

Not necessarily. Most of Africa doesn't have any internet at all. Having a cloud OS would mean the same as not having a PC unless you were in a major city...

Everybody should get up to speed on Linux. They have some really nice options. See here.

A rumor is a rumor is a rumor and nothing more.
I think I actually once read that Windows 9 or 10 was to be a cloud OS back when Windows 8 was still in Preview builds. I doubt they'd do that for so many reasons, namely the HUGE push back everyone will have against that. Just look at what happened with the Xbox One. There was a push for some cloud based features and DRM, but then that was reversed because of negative feedback.
There was a rumor back in Windows 8 that it would support Xbox 360 games.

If they have such an accelerated release cycle, it's conceivable they could make niche OS's. Rather then "this is the next OS for everyone", it could be "here is a cloud OS for those who want it". Or "here is a desktop oriented OS". But I rather doubt it since they seem hellbent to get the same interface across all devices. What's their latest tag line?

That's good. Is it really that much better than VBox?

vBox is another option. But I had some problems with it and switched to VMware Player after using vBox for years. I find it easier to use than vBox - but that may be just me.

I spent more than a month to put that package together. I am pleased that it is of some use.
