Here's hoping it's a worthy successor to Win7 so we can all grow old(er) together.
    My sentiments exactly.

Somewhat confusing article, looks like posted today but contains elements that reveal it could be quite old. Makes me doubt its authenticity and reliability.

Take for instance the two first paragraphs. My comments in red italic, IMO strange parts in original in bold blue:
Windows 8 is still new operating system, but Microsoft reportedly the developing of two different follow-up os, one of theme of will be launched this summer.

The above must refer to last summer and 8.1, especially in context of the first sentence in next paragraph below.

At the moment, not surprisingly, the software giant is still working their asses off on Windows Blue. A number of Microsoft employees and executives have already confirmed that teams are working on the new Windows version, called either Windows 9
    Further:
Windows Blue will also introduce IE 11 first build. However is likely to be a beta.
As we know Windows 8.1 comes with IE11, final not a beta.

Why would Microsoft change course in Win 9 by separating PCs from mobile? Aren't all the major OS vendors (ie: Apple, Google) trying to blend computing whether it be on a computer, tablet or phone?
Because most (real) computer users don't want a computer that looks like a poke/touch/feely thing as a desktop machine. Is MS wants to innovate they should drop all the mobile device and hardware incrusions and focus on making the best desktop/laptop OS possible.

Sadly Gary, I don't think there are nearly as many "real" computer users anymore. We agree on what you say, but the "rest" are using mobile devices. MS will go where the money is. It would be nice if they would just fork themselves...that is, make 2 different versions of the same OS

It does look like MS will continue moving in the direction that 8 took, just hope they will give a alternative for the tech users. Maybe an enterprise version, they need to provide an alternative.

    Totally agree.
In the very early 20th century Henry Ford said "you can have any color you like as long as it is black"
That attitude would go down like a lead balloon to-day.
MS ... Two products is not rocket science.
A walk down the aisle of any supermarket shows diversity is survival.

As a heavy user of AutoCad and number crunching on 5 desktop PCs ... mobile device OS would be useless
I totally agree with this post. Especially the CAD bit at the end. I am the owner of a design business and am not keen on where MS is headed.

Social media apps I don't need. Cloud is out of the question.

Windows 9 is more suitable to be developed as a cloud OS.... Cloud 9.
10 can be a milestone OS... back to the desktop.

Until the rest of the world gets decent internet support cloud is out of the question. In SA - due to the really terrible state of our internet accessibility, reliability and pricing - a cloud based OS would be an absolute disaster.
