    What the heck...?

Is this normal to get this lot updated almost on a weekly basis?

    Very unprofessional.

Yeah it’s getting tiresome especially as current build still hasn’t reached v1904 yet. iOS, Mac OS has the new icons but MS cannot get their act together on their own OS for their own product! I know I could go insider and get that now but have enough bugs in MS I could do without more. But it does as you mention seem they are going overkill with weekly updating

I got back home from Easter trip overseas yesterday morning and having done the usual housekeeping exercises, have turned my both systems on to see what's up. And - naturally - both Office 2016 on one, and Office 2019 on the other got updated as there must have been an update for both released sometime last week (pushed since Wed onwards).

So I'm just mildly annoyed - not because it's a total waste, obviously, both bandwidth and computer resources - but because it's so frequent and random these days. Talk about the product/version management, pah!

What's more: can't see any difference - and since the yesterday (or even possibly the moment I installed both for the first time) either!

Lol, me neither. Office is no more useful or different to look at it than it was when I first installed 365 over 3 years ago! I couldn’t tell you what has changed in that time. The biggest thing i will notice is when the icons change ... and i bet that won’t be a smooth ride either!

i think MS overdoes updates for some kind of bragging rights but updating for the sake of updating isn’t a good thing. When will they learn people generally don’t like lots of updates. What worked today they want to be working tomorrow.

I say: since Office 2003 possibly...!

And correct: any newer version just shuffled icons, ribbons and toolbars all over the place, which was frightfully annoying.

Thank you Brink for the heads up on this update. When I checked earlier today nothing was showing.

    * Various bugs and performances fixes.

Also: can't help but notice that release notes for two preceding updates are the same.

Yet another update this morning! But at least we finally got the new icons and as far as I see no nasty side effects to pre pinned office apps or existing desktop shortcuts . But why has MS not bothered updating the access and publisher icons to be consistent, the mind boggles!!!
