Any bets on the Alpha Build leaks of Windows 9 ?
Maybe the Russians will have them first, thanks to WikiLeaks & Ed Snowden :cigar:
Seems like the Russians always get the info on new OS before we do.

    Hi there
Like it - although I'd pass on the FULL SCREEN PREVIEW bit.

Shows though Windows is still alive and kicking -- not dead by any stretch of the imagination.

We can always forget "Corporate -ease_ like "Leveraging XXXX to do YYYY", "Downsizing" or having to "let someone go" etc etc.

    Cheers

What I didn't get from that are the minimum system requirements. Did I miss it? Can somebody fill me in?

Nice concept, but I don't think that it will be anything close to that. You may see the Desktop app in 9, but by 10 it may be gone for good. I think 9 will be all the more Modern/Metro orientated interface as we see in 8/8.1. The Start Screen with tiles, especially live tiles, are all to important for MS's concept of "personalizing" a Pc/device. We saw more of this integration from 8 to 8.1. We see more Settings via the interface in Charms/PC Settings. Such items like SkyDrive being an integral part with File Explorer folder and app. The Microsoft-created quintuplet Store apps (Mail, People, Calendar, Photos, and Bing) being much improved. I think File Explorer will be replaced by the SkyDrive app.

All in all as time goes on we will see more of this.

Nice concept, Hope that this type of design will be used.
MS is going to cater to their largest market, the average users, who are migrating towards mobile devices. So expect things to move in that direction. The only hope power users will have is if they decide to make a alternate or modified option for power users and enterprise. Not all enterprise users will need this version, time will tell.

Microsoft seems to hsve designed a mobile OS, to appeal to the younger more mobile users. They seem to be aiming at the social media types, which we may look back and say it was a very good move on their part. However, a large base which has been left out is not only the enthusiast/ Power user But also the corporate production oriented types. Those are not that intrested in social media, and in fact, typically frown on it. The production oriented crowd are not very excited about windows 8/8.1. Those are a significant percentage of Microsoft's buisness and I don't believe that Microsoft is going to abandon those users. I can't help but believe Microsoft will release an OS that will address the needs of those users. Not doing so would be a big mistake on Microsoft's part, in my opinion.

Agreed. The social media stuff... its ok on a phone maybe but I wouldn't want it cluttering my work PC. Serves no purpose there.

I agree that it would be a mistake on Microsoft's part to try and push a mobile type OS like Windows 8 on businesses and I would think they are smarter than that. The OS is only a part of the revenue Microsoft generates, as productivity software accounts for a substantial amount as well.
