i have tweeted office support and office 365 and posted this link on the forum (also posted on the hopeless MS answers community) not that it will do much, Canned brush off response probably being prepared !
over 2 hours now passed and still ……
As a last effort our main much faster pc I shut down and then switched on. Shortly after login it popped up
office is updating ! I left it a minute and opened excel, no v1904 but the end five numbers now show .20244 (I think from
memory).
i checked for updates and it said I was up to date so it appears to of now done on the main pc. What a farce! I didn’t get that earlier on our living room pentium machine which is a lot slower but still uses SSD. Guess I’ll try that again when back from work! I love wasting my spare time with MS and battling with their updates
I wonder how we are supposed to update and move past this. Somehow my main pc updated but our other machine just got stuck on this
did you find a method to get the update to work after ending in task manager?
Just tried it and the update worked ok within a few mins. Must say it is completely pointless. MS have pushed relentless current build updates in recent weeks. And it’s not even moved to v1904. Total waste of time messing about with this earlier
It finally just updated for me as well.
