    In short:
Start upgrade to 18875 not from 18362.53 but from earlier version (18362.30).
I'll try that since I have a good Macrium backup of 18362.30 (and the 3 builds prior to that).

Uninstall the Cumulative from last Tuesday, and pause updates. (pause first)
I paused updates (still on Fast) and tried uninstalling KB4495666 which was installed on my PC on 4/10. The uninstall button doesn't show up next to organize on the Installed Updates list. Am I missing something?

I have the back ups also but hoping there will be a new release tomorrow that will be more compatable with my PC. If it was the update I would have expected just about everyone here would have had this issue not just a certain percentage of us.

Need to go here. This is my machine, and it's 1809, but the option is the same.

Yes but as you can see, there seems to be no way to uninstall it short of finding the corresponding manifest and editing the mum file. If you know a simpler way, that'd be great. Else I'll probably have to wait for MS to fix this

Sorry...mildly confuse. If you click on that KB4495666, you have no option to uninstall? Far as I know, Organize has no bearing....unless I'm totally misunderstanding.

    History (long):
    Surface 4 on .53 - 4 rounds with errors (~BT, Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ - no result)
    Desktop on .53 - 3 rounds - with errors
    but
Asus Ultrabook (old, slow) but on .30 - success on first round
So I put desktop back (MR) to Sunday state (.30) and success again.
    Culprit is Tuesday patch.
    Cheers
Thanks, that's worked for me too.

Yes ideally there is an uninstall button next to organise. But as I highlighted in red, it's absent for certain updates. It is my understanding that MS designates certain updates as "permanent" and others as "removable". There seems to be a way to uninstall these so-called permanent updates but it involves tampering with MS Update Manifest files.

Understand now....thanks. Is your goal to get back to .30 so you can do the 18865? Look at post #146, right above yours. Restore a backup of .30, if you have one.

    Tried 3 times.
    Same error.
    Sorry for that friend!

Have you tried doing it with ISO instead?
