I followed the instructions to disable Windows search and deleted the files in the specified download directory. Everything worked. I am not at Version 1903 (OS Build 18875.1000). Thank you to all for your suggestions.

This build gave me a unsuccessful success. I finally got the disable Search trick to work after three tries. After rebooting I couldn't get this build to load without Green Screening. The screen flashed so fast I couldn't read the error code. I had to use my Macrium image to roll back to the previous build. I'll wait until MS solves the problem.

I've tried the tricks posted earlier about getting this one installed three times in a row, and keep getting tis at the end(it's in a Hyper-V VM so I can do a screenshot)

Microsoft can slowly screw their Insider program.

Instead of fixing update/upgrade and system stability, they keep adding more niche crap that not many people will use.

They can add the API's and work out problems with software developers, for that specific program type that will use the API, without forcing us to have a useless(for most, but not all users) program on the system.

Upgrading is getting more & more difficult, and we are expected to find a way around the glitches, and then they use the fixes and claim they did it, and not credit any user(or at least say from "unknown" user) or forum that actually fixed it.

I'll just wait for the next one.

Why does disabling Windows Search fix the upgrade issue as it did for me & many others?
Is it peculiar to just this upgrade or more generally applicable?

I have a question for those who had to disable Search to get this build to install. Are you running any security programs other than Windows Defender? I'm running Eset Internet Security along with Malwarebytes Premium, SUPERAntiSpyware and CCleaner and I'm wondering if one of those programs could be the reason I'm getting the Green Screen crash trying to run this build. The Green Screen flashes so fast that I can't get the error code.

But then they wouldn't be able to pat their selves on the back and receive a bonus on their paycheck.

The thing that makes so frustrated is, I have an Ubuntu VM that's currently on 18.04 LTS(switched to LTS version at 18.04), that I have been upgrading since since 15.10, and never, ever. had a single problem.

The Linux geeks like to recommend a clean install for each new version, but I don't as I don't see a single reason to, and I think they just say that because they think that's the geeky cool thing to say.

Microsoft on the other hand, has been getting more sloppy in the last couple years with their upgrade system.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking about uninstalling these programs and trying again. It will have to wait until I'm more awake though.
