running build 18362.53 without any problems. my PC was on over 17 hours yesterday and 10 hours today so far. i wonder if some of the problems i've had on v1809 were down to Avira Anti-Virus.

its almost 2 weeks since the last cumulative update on patch Tuesday and that was only security fixes. surely there will be a new one v.soon.

Most likely! I've never had a good or even acceptable experience with that AV brand on any Windows version. While Windows Defender is far from perfect, it does it's job remarkably well. Been using it since Windows 10 Insider Program began.

    Yes....

amd64 refers to the instruction set the processor runs, not the manufacturer of the processor. Intel 64-bit CPUs run the amd64 instruction set.

On the Insider Preview slow ring Windows 10 v. 1903 number 18362.30 successfully installed, but after applying update KB4495666 (which should take my computer to 18362.53) it will not boot past the black screen with the spinning circle. I have to a hard restart three times to use System Restore to undo this update and get my computer booted. I have turned off updates for seven days. Any advice?

Which AV are you using currently? I would say just uninstall any 3rd party security software for now (until MS/AV vendor fixes all the stuff).

Maybe there is still an issue with KB4495666 and you should check this article:
    https://www.zdnet.com/article/window...10237760721960

Last week Microsoft pushed its first 20H1 build to testers in the Windows Insider program's Fast Ring, but the release of Build 18875 failed for some testers, who were unable to install the update and saw various errors messages. Windows Insider boss Dona Sarkar has now confirmed that last Tuesday's security update KB4495666 preview build 18362.53 was the source of the problem. "We have determined that there is an issue with the Build 18362.53 (KB4495666) Cumulative Update that was released early last week which has caused updates to Build 18875 to fail," noted Sarkar.

i'm running 18362.53 and had just the one instance of PC not booting. it hung at the initial bios screen. i just pressed the reset button on the case after half a minute. i'm not sure if its a problem with my pc hardware or its Windows. had the same problem sometimes on Win10 v1809 but it always booted fine on the 2nd attempt.
