I'll second that statement. You do exactly what makes you feel comfortable!
You just hear recommendations of other people, coming from their experience, but at the end of the day, you evaluate and do whatever gives you peace of mind.
Let me give you a small example. It has been stated numerous times in this forum, that creating a Macrium Reflect image is more than reliable (and it is) and there is no need to verify the image upon creation. Although I don't doubt it a bit, when I create an image, I always verify it. Takes almost double the time to complete, but it gives me peace of mind. There might be a point of time, when I'll stop doing it, but until that time comes, if it comes, I'll keep doing what gives me the confidence that I did it "properly".
And I do exactly the same - VERIFY my Macrium images, and for important PCs I have 2 copies so it's the copy that I verify!

Me too. Mine is paranoia. I had a bad experience with a mainframe that was not properly backed up and spent a fraught weekend rebuilding the OS from scratch following a system disk failure.

Just 'cos you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you!
Seriously though, I've had similar episodes in the past, plus I know that however reliable kit is, it will always fail at the worst possible moment...."Sod's Law"
    Now that's paranoia!

I use to use Norton that Comcast provided , then one day they in there infinite wisdom someone decided to hit a button that said disable all are keys for there Norton, woke up one day and had no pro version, it was and is the last time i trust a internet provider with my security, i took it off, and went with Windows defender and malwarebytes pro and have not had one issue.

I just use Malwarebytes Premium and disabled Windows Defender.
I run Windows Defender and Malwarebytes Premium together. Here is a series of posts with a lot of good info on why you should or should not run them topgether or run MBAM by itself. Malwarebytes Premium & Defender

As I mentioned above I run Norton Security. I also run Malwarebytes Free (which is obviously a manual operation when I feel it necessary) Additionally, my WD is set to run scans and from time to time, I get prompted to update its virus and thread protection.
All good - see my comments about OCD above

Thanks & greatly appreciated. I'll definitely enable the Windows Defender again. Previously, I'm worried the MBAM conflict with WD.

Just make sure you set the Action centre setting to either Let Malwarebytes decide or Never register.
