My atom laptop is taking forever to install this update.
Same here, I would say more than 2 hours so far and still installing at 79%, but on a desktop.

I don't doubt it! It's a whole new OS. Poor Atom will be a pile of protons and electrons when it's done. With wisps of smoke......
Poor little atom got his electrons whipped into submission with an end result of a failed update but not before it wiped out my Office 2016 settings along with my other accounts.

You are getting me scared , and. A chance I made a MR differential system backup before starting.

I just put everything back, however, insider updates will remain disabled and I'll wait until MS updates the release to account for issues.

Edit: I'm locked into a temporary account cycle so I've started the usual command prompt shenanigans to resolve it.

Actually the bits are the same as fast ring 18362,(+ cumulative .30), which i installed already three weeks ago, and future cumulative updates should bring me to current branch just fine. As to regarding insider settings, they are disabled on my pc, I choose when and where to install from iso's. So definitely no need to reinstall again or set ring to release preview, as all the updates cab files can be obtained from uupdump anytime.
True, but unless I have a problem, I always use Windows Update to install because I'm in the Insider Program and like to keep up with what's right and wrong. That said, I generally create a bootable flash drive with each new Build on it just in case I need it.

All quite true. This initial exercise is the first test of actual "home User" type update, Seeing how it goes process wise for the masses. Some on RP have never seen the 18362 yet. 35 mins here from check WU to Desktop. All fine so far.
Same here, TC. Everything looks as good as it does on Little Lenovo. BTW, she's going to get to rest for awhile unless Fast Ring actually does morph into 20H1.

I think we're going to have to manually update the Senior Center's machines just a bit prior to liftoff, though. Internet is very slow there and I'd hate to start class and everything in the classroom decide to update!
