When I came back, I looked at Windows Update and got a download of this update, again. It was quick, installation was quick, but No Reboot was required.

Now I have 2 entries in my history. I don't expect anything to be wrong but it was a weird situation.

    Should I be concerned?

I got only one instance of that update, reboot was no problem, haven't seen any other issues.

    Windows 10 & Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Cumulative Update KB3081424 installed okay for me. Things seem to have a bit more "snap" now, seems to have sped things up somewhat from what I can tell. One thing hasn't changed though: my DVD drive is still not detected in Windows 10.

No issues here as well. Will test battery life tomorrow. Hopefully there is an improvement.

The update actually requires a restart in order for the install to complete and changes to take effect. You can choose not to install the update but I'm not so sure that's a good idea either so...

IDK, maybe it is Comcast, but live tv streaming is blurry and not high quality after this update. Anybody else see any such effect?

My AMD Cool N Quiet works a lot better after the update. Before the CPU stayed near the maximum speed most of the time, now most of the time it stay at the minimum speed.

I've had this come up several times while overclocking, I believe it's a driver crash. I would reset the BIOS to optimized defaults (manual memory times maybe necessary for some) and see if they can get into Windows. Once into Windows they should be able to go back and find a stable overclock/bios settings.

Here's a little something I found on the issue.

Well, I'm pretty severely overclocked (Intel 5820K @ 4.58GHZ / DDR4-3258) and had no problems. But if your OC is not well and stable, that could be a problem.
