Finally got it installed. Success always comes at a price they say. Persistence overcomes resistance and all that blah blah.

Ended up just doing a clean install of the ISO created following Kari's excellent UUP dump video, and rufus to make bootable USB.

It would seem there was just something dorked in my old install. No real surprise I suppose, as I can never leave well enough alone lol.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me, Kari for the great video tutorial, and Wynona for convincing me Macrium is a great back up program.

    peace

I upgraded my new laptop (Asus TUF FX505DY, Ryzen 5 3550H, RX 560X) from 1809 to this build. The device is still not included in the Insider rings even after installing. Will I get the final stable (RTM) build even if I don't join Insider?

First Cumulative update will bring it to the same number. but could be next month or later. You can still update with ISO when it's availabe

Nothing for me I'm still at 18356.16!! (Slow ring)
Maybe MS has forgot about me and my ASUS gamer-laptop??

How do I update from 18356.16 to 18356.21???

EDIT: NM ... went to Fast Ring, tried without luck, went back to Slow Ring, tried again, and now 18362.30 is comming down to me.

    Hi,

First machine done. Five more to go.

    Cheers,

EDIT: This is a total mess. Intel P900 lost its boot record. I'll need to restore it through a backup image.
This update does not write its bootrecord properly. MS quo vadis ???

I'll try another machine with an M2 and another with a bios raid 0 install and will report back asap.

    Hi,

And the story goes on. Same machine but W10 on a Samsung 970 Pro NVMe drive. It's not even on the Uefi boot menu any longer.
So, I'll have two restores to do (thank God for Macruim Reflect) and take it from there.
In the mean time I'd advise to take precautions with this one. I've never seen anything that bad by MS before. Sloppy, sloppy.

    Cheers,

PS. Oh yeah, I got the menu entries for the P900 back in the UEFI bootmenu. Guess what ? It wants me to do a repair install. No way Jose.

Well, I got the update, but it can't install. After POST, it says something like "updating windows. Don't turn your computer off". And after some minutes, it just reboots, and when back in Windows, I'm still at ver 18356.16.
    What to do??

EDIT: I have now tried to install the .cab file from an elevated prompt. But that did not work. I got error 0x800f081e
"The specified package is not applicable to this image."
    And then a huge log-file.

How do I get away from 18356.16????
