Today I have twice downloaded the 1903 ISO from Microsoft's own page, and when I run the ISO's through Windows and Office Genuine ISO Verifier they come up RED, not Genuine...
What shall I do? 1903 OTA upgrade literally killed my 1803 installation and I have not been able to repair it despite hours of trying. Anyone know of a better file somewhere at MS?
The MS Media Creation Tool failed twice, Rufus failed extraction [as it does often] but in both cases the underlying root trouble was probably corrupt images
You can first try to roll back your version with a system image backup taken before you started to notice the issue, because it seems that for some reason, there is some corruption on your system. Or you can use UUPDump ISO from the following link:

UUP Dump – Get Insider Fast Ring ISO – Win10.Guru

or preferably here is the skinny and fastest way:

Windows Insider - Get Latest Fast Ring ISO image

Mount the .iso created by UUPDump procedure and run setup.exe file. Don't let it check for Updates; That can be done after your install is up and running fine.

First the tool is not from Microsoft and 2nd it's not worked correctly before. If you downloaded the ISO from Microsoft then I wouldn't worry about it.

If you used the Media Creation Tool to create the ISO that is to be expected. The MCT doesn't download an existing ISO, what it actually does is download the .ESD files and other components, then construct an ISO from them on the fly. The hash for such an ISO is never going to match any published hash.

Only when you download the ISO as a single file would you be able to verify against a hash. One way to download an actual ISO is Option Three in this tutorial.

    Download Windows 10 ISO File

Unfortunately she crashed unrecoverably while munching on the 1903 update. Tried to get boot for several hours before white flag. So best to clean install.

MCT failed during extraction. Rufus failed for some reason...probably I had an obscure setting wrong but I’m snakebitten with Rufus....never gotten a good bootable usb drive

ill visit UUP Dump. Thank you for this

Actually thats what what I did. After Rufus flamed out using it, I hunted message boards for cause and got the idea that Rufus is right, image corrupt though Rufus does not render that message. So I used the validation tool Brinkman suggested and got the red flag.... that’s when I came back here to seek help

I've used Rufus for a very long time, and have never had but a couple of failures; both my fault. I used Burncdcc64 before that and it works great, although it's getting pretty old.

it is a well regarded tool.
I gave it another go yesterday after reading more carefully Brink's notes, it worked.
got a clean install now. Illustrates your point. The iso that had been marked 'red' by the validation tool worked fine

    Hi Ladies and Gents,

Sorry to be a pain in the arse yet again but regarding answers to my post above I was under the impression that all essential security updates would still be automatically installed under the new Windows update process. I've just heard that Microsoft released Security updates on 9th July and on Microsoft's update information page it says KB4507435 Highlights - "Updates to improve security when using Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, wireless technologies, and Microsoft Office products." Underneath it says "This update will be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update." yet when that update turned up on my PC when I was in Windows Update it said Pending Download and there was a button that said Download so I had to make a manual interaction to get it downloaded.

What's going on? Is this considered a "not that critical security" update?

It will download and install itself automatically when you're away from keyboard for a while. Then restart too in your non-active hours, or next time you shut it down. Microsoft got a bunch of bad press when W10 initially launched because of its intrusive update process, so they made a few changes over the years to rectify that.
