I'm on Win 10 1809 who is not presently in the Insider's Program who would like to get the 18362.xx iso off someone who has it (Dick?) If you have it, i'd appreciate downloading it from you if possible ( that's the least you can do since your Orioles took the series off my Blue Jays )

One major question i have is if i upgrade to 18362.x via iso, can i remain out of Insider's Program?? Is there a watermark with the build (i believe i read there is?) No biggie really as i'll have a backup of the updated 1809 build to revert back to if necessary.

    Thanks for any help gang!

This is kind of good news (The dating and naming are just semantics). other than that, I will be at more at ease if their going to control the WU update releases with more scrutiny. Customers shouldn't no longer receive surprise updates on the fly. I hope they are going to ask (no matter what the version is), before they auto down load and there you sit.

    We will see shortly.
Hahaha, Storageman! I'm not too sure I've ever been notified about an update ahead of time. They do sometimes tell us when we're not going to get an update, like they did about Skip Ahead the other day.

I used uup dump to get the ISO. I am not in the insider program and upgraded my main computer. There is no watermark or expiration date.
The only side issue is until it goes official you have to manually download the CU cab files and install them yourself if you are not in the insider program.

I have a few simple questions that I'm sure some of ya'll can easily answer. I just don't mess with this stuff much, and am being careful.

I used uupdownloader to download and create 18362.30.190401-0443.19H1_RELEASE_SVC_PROD2_CLIENTPRO_OEMRET_x64FRE_EN-US.ISO.

Am I correct in my assumption that this is the newest and correct release to upgrade my Pro 17763.404 windows install?
Will I be able to mount this ISO and run windows setup and "upgrade" to 1903 while leaving my settings and programs in place?
Or will this wipe out my current install and require me to install all of my programs and redo all of my current settings?

    Your input is most appreciated.

    peace

And for further knowledge, I would add:
It is time to check Windows Insider Settings:

You can certainly do that, Wannago, but I wouldn't advise it just yet. If you read the first post in this thread, you probably know that the "May 2019 Update" won't happen until sometime in May. Build 18362.x isn't ready yet and is still in "Preview". If you use your machine for production work (important stuff it's not good to lose), installing Build 18362.xx over 17763.404 will put you in a position of having an "unstable" operating system (it's a beta), which could put your work in jeopardy. The same goes for a home use machine you may use for, say, your income taxes, pictures you've taken, emails you've received, etc.

    Yes, that will work.

I'm pretty sure it will allow you to keep programs, settings and documents, etc., but again, there is a chance it won't be able to keep everything.

After reading what I've had to say about the matter, if you decide to go ahead with your plans, you will need a complete backup of your system. Most of us here use Macrium Reflect which has both free and paid version. You can find it here: Macrium Software | Your Image is Everything

    Thanks for the reply Wynona.

I am aware of the status of 18362 as beta still. This machine is used strictly for gaming and has nothing of any real importance on the OS partition.

I am currently in the RP ring of the insider program and was under the impression that this is what will be released to us on Tuesday.
I was simply trying to make this upgrade a planned event on a day where I have time to mess with it rather than on a week night.
Mostly I was just double checking that I had the correct install media, and that my intended approach would produce the expected results.

thanks again for your time and input.

You better wait, Settings - Apps - is crashing upon startup for some, even after updating to 18362.30.
I had that problem but it seemed to disappear after I manually checked Windows Store updates.

edit. I Just noticed that when started windows next time i had to check updates in Store again before the Apps in settings did not close immediately.
