I thought they'd replaced it with a GSOD these days, Doctor! I could care less whether it's graceful or not . . . I want them to actually reboot my machine like they promise instead of going into the never-ending loop of the "green screen"!

There was a tweak to change color too.

It has sad face added to it and there's G(reen)SOD in Insider versions.

For neophytes, a PC that can't boot because of BSOD's is a major problem. Especially a business.

Or yellow and black with a wee cup on it for Watford.

Seriously though there should be some kind of ability to reverse the process quickly with a reasonable explanation of why it happened and what caused it to happen, rather that getting what we get now.

Oh......and I am also ready btw. Good luck everyone.

Odd, I just looked at my Windows Update page in Settings (I had not clicked 'Check for updates') and found it busy reinstalling KB4490481 for a second time.

    Attachment 229589

On completion it did not ask for a restart (well, it wouldn't need one if it was already installed, would it?) but it did record a second 'successful' install. (1809 Home, 17763.404).

    Attachment 229590

PS: @AllenChicago will be interested to know that the reinstall set my pinned Edge tiles back to white/blank icons (and again, restored the icons by visiting the sites concerned).
My Edge "top sites" tiles magically went back to normal in early May. Today, they magically went back to having an all-white background. Edge is now falling behind Firefox and Chrome in tweakable features too.

Maybe because all development is now concentrating on the new chromium-based Edge. Try the Dev channel build alongside 'old' Edge, it's a big improvement...

Microsoft Edge Insider preview builds are now ready for you to try
