None of them use the anti-cheat that was problematic (BattlEye) - that is used in titles like Fortnite, PUBG, The Crew 2 and Rainbow 6: Siege. (All of them quite big AAA titles - cannot see MS release an update that would break them).

That's where the problems were - imho. Other games use EasyAntiCheat, which has been updated - and never was a problem in the first place, iirc.

I'm seeing an Esent error but so far start menu hasn't reacted nor any tiles. It's more of an event viewer issue.

    ESENT Event ID 455
    svchost (11216,R,98) TILEREPOSITORYS-1-5-18
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log.
This Event error has been present for quite a few of the last builds. I have posted repeatedly on MS Feedback...to no avail. The solution is trivial: this is a missing folder problem - simply navigate to the folder path that you see in the error log and manually create the "TileDataLayer\Database" folders...and, shazam, the error is gone.

It appears that MS is deleting the folders during an in-place upgrade. And, for some reason, the system is not recreating the complete folder path when it attempts to write the EDB.log file(s).

    Hi there
Can somebody correct my English here

doesn't "Anti-Cheat" (??) simply mean Don't cheat -- therefore why would software be needed !!!!!!!

Not being a gamer so I've undoubtedly missed something here but I'd still like to know !!!

    Cheers

    Not exactly.

In this context, it really means PREVENT i.e. you take anti-depressants to prevent depression. So anti-cheat helps to prevents users cheating.

    Hi folks

VMware still has a defect - this time if you suspend a VM that's OK but when you try and RESUME it you are left with just a blank screen. However at least you can power off the VM without having to re-boot the HOST.

Language problem still there - mixed langs all over the place -- not sure why Ms can't fix this - all working perfectly in 1809 - can't see why languages / texts should be a problem - you only presumably need to call the correct texts etc for displaying in the standard screens !! hardly the most difficult technical development exercise I should think.

I'll boot up both 1809 and this build to see if I can show what I mean. Will post later in this thread.

    Cheers

As this is looking like RTM, I have decided to go for it and do the upgrade (naturally taking a full Macrium Reflect backup first).

Using the iso method to update as I have always found that to be most reliable.
    Wish me luck :-D.

    Hi there

Iso method (UUPDUMP) works fine - also works on update from 1809 17763.402 but if you use VMware the suspend resume feature fails - otherwise VM's work OK.
