Just curious...
Last build I installed from a iso via uup dump but it automatically came with reserved storage...is this happening for you guys ? Now I updated through windows update because I disabled reserved storage in the registry and I don't have it when I update through Wu....so a fresh install comes with reserved storage by default but if u disable reserved storage before the next build and update with Wu u won't have it... Which I like lol
No watermark--but based on the known issues I'd say this is not RTM... Fast WU upgrade--offline portion of the install was 14 minutes from initial reboot to completed desktop--very nice! Microsoft seems to have this down pat--WU upgrades have been rock solid from--well, honestly cannot remember the last time I bothered with the intermediate step of putting together an ISO...!
45 minutes from start to finish including ISO with 6 minutes for final install. Kind of a record for me. Anxious to check out the new Phone programming.
I was hesitant at first too, but it really is simple. A couple clicks to get the zip, unzip and run the cmd batch file then as @sgage says, go do something else for awhile. When it finishes you have a ISO file to use. I select just the Pro edition as I don't heen Home or the N editions. Makes it a smaller download and a faster build.
Give it a try. If you have any questions, ask. Someone should be around to help.
I encountered this issue as well. I always image before starting any updates - especially version upgrades. After rolling back to the image immediately before the "Check for Updates" the upgrade process did work. BUT, the preparing phase moved extremely slowly - almost an hour before the download phase began. After that, everything proceeded smoothly.
I had done a clean install with of 18353.1 and had to re-establish Insider program sign in. I am wondering if that had any side effects resulting in the slow preparation phase.
@goatty2 - Were you also working from a clean install?
Tried doing Check Updates on my Laptop and it was not finding 18356 (19H1). Same problem I've had the last 3 updates. Finally did some looking around and found that I had been moved back to the slow ring again. Switched back to Fast and Check for updates found 18356 (19H1) immediately. 2nd time this has happened to me.
