Not for much longer, apparently it's all going to change (again)....

Windows Update for Business and the retirement of SAC-T in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
That has just confirmed what I was saying. Thanks for the link!. And to get matter a little bit more complicated, read the following article (it is not that long) specially the comments at the bottom. Lots of users are not happy about that. This is really getting more and more confusing and I would add it is an understatement of "Brobdingnagian" proportion:

the new style store/metro native apps (or whatever they are called) cause so many headaches. Especially on a multi user PC where they are so prone to going wrong/breaking for other pc users when they get updated with sometimes great difficulty getting them fixed again
I gotta say I could not stand the UWP apps and their glitchiness (the clunky delay when you click for one, don't know how else to describe it) when that was in early stages but now well, really like them (that being said I don't use them on a multi-user PC like you are).

MS store is still filled with a lot of garbage but the big guys like Netflix, Spotify, Audible things like that are quality. The MS apps such as Weather, News, Sports, Money, OneNote are nice especially now that the Weather app live tile doesn't have me living in Washington DC. Some little guys (Mp3Tag, MusicBee) produce apps that are exactly like their desktop versions in terms of quality and functionality from what I've seen so far. I like that they update themselves without having to go DL something and go into the program dialog, ease of install/removaI, they'll put themselves back on if I choose when I install Windows and login. I am not a serious "gamer" but play Forza. Also like that I can push "manage" in the program list and move it to a different SSD with the push of a button.

Another thing, with MS rewards which has to be one of the most generous rewards program out there I can get a movie here and there without breaking out the wallet. Recently got Earth: One Amazing Day when it was on sale and Dolby Atmos to go with it (no WAY I'd pay for that) and it was pretty neat. The way it deals with the sound as objects instead of channels and how that fools my brain is, neat. And I'm way off-topic.

I'm still dealing with them abandoning Groove music and am still on my endeavor to get release notes when they update these things.

I think MS started a new barrage of end of life notifications for W7 users. I can't imagine businesses such as banks and Dr. offices not migrating over merely for credibility purposes.

Some needed software is now W10 only. The transition was bumpy and must still be rough for many as there are reams of threads on here about blocking unwanted W10 updates. I get what you are saying about the constantly moving the goalposts and new glitchy features. Especially in a business environment, who wants to worry about what the next update may or may not do you just want plain vanilla reliability.

I do look forward to 19H1 despite it sounding like it should be in a vial at the CDC.

@andyouf The Netflix still stuck with the older version 6.93.375.0 and Android is using v7.2.1 build 8 (code 34109)

Literally, the Netflix is not quality enough.

Both Netflix have recently updated, the Android one made it so it isn't so overwhelming when you first open it and there's thousand things you are interested in right away. I don't use that really at all, I can't get into watching things on the phone and don't own a tablet. Do you mean the UI's are old and they need an overhaul?

What I like about the UWP version is I can watch UHD content on the PC outside of Edge. I did Ctrl+Shift+Alt +D in Chrome when I first signed up and found that I'm limited to 720p there, not even 1080.

@andyouf The Chrome is limited to 720p. Yeah, the UI is terrible & I don't understand why Microsoft Store, Netflix is outdated and didn't polish at all.

I still prefer the interface on the phone, but I'm stuck with 540p so no choice. The Edge supported 1080p, but I don't like to use browser to watch Netflix.

It seems they are working on the organization of the store, it was a mess as little as six months ago but now seems better with succinct categories and actual useful apps like Duolingo upfront instead of obscure useless stuff.

For functionality I have no problems. The UI is a lot. I read something about how they are trying to make it less like a huge all you can eat buffet. Apparently the place is made up (obviously) of many very high-level programmers but it is a rough place to work. The original WSJ article is behind a paywall.

What is "Ginger" and the "x" with the Javascript command you signed off with?

I just run system checks and benchmarks after optimizing BIOS, boy, this runs really good with this build.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed Slow downs in applications etc with this Update ?

My CAD Programs have a noticeable slow down , so slow I am having to wait for Camera View etc to Open or to apply Changes etc...

So this afternoon I uninstalled it as a test and my Cad programs are back to normal...... there isn't a Meltdown or Spectre "fix" in this update is there?

    Thanks for any insights....
